Candle Care
Follow the simple candle care tips below to ensure that you get the best out of your new candle.
Place your candle on a flat, level surface away from draughts. Make sure to protect the surface with a heat resistant barrier.
-
Do not burn wax down to the base.
-
Before relighting, trim the wick to a length of about 6mm or ¼ inch. This helps maintain a beautiful clean burning flame and avoid soot from blackening the sides of the glass jar or tainting the oils. Discard the remnant wick before relighting.
When lighting for the first time make sure you burn the candle until the wax has melted all the way across the top. This will allow the wax to pool evenly during its burn time. Typically this is between three to four hours depending on the size of the candle. Do not burn your candle for more than four hours.
-
When it’s time to put out the flame, it is recommended to “snuff” it out with a candle snuffer.
For safety reasons never leave your candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children, pets and proximity of flammable objects.
-
Premium soy wax candles are sensitive to temperature extremes and bright sunlight. If not in use, store in a cool place. Discolouration and frosting will not affect the burning abilities of your candle.
-
If the wick develops a ‘mushroom’ whilst burning, snuff the candle out, carefully trim the wick and relight.
